Salary: $23.00 + Tips (Hourly)

Position Summary: 

This role is more than just a WOK COOK. It is the opportunity to act as a brand ambassador to bridge cultures through food. Take our patrons on a culinary adventure through education, quality customer service, and a positive experience at our restaurant. We are counting on you to be an extension of our brand. 

The WOK COOK requires expertise in high-heat wok cooking, a deep understanding of Burmese/Southeast Asian flavors and the ability to prepare traditional dishes with precision and speed. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and cook authentic Burmese and Southeast Asia wok-based meals
  • Use traditional wok techniques to create bold flavors while maintaining high-quality cooking standards
  • Maintain proper cooking temperatures and wok heat control for consistency in every dish
  • Work quickly and efficiently to prepare multiple orders while ensuring food presentation and portion accuracy
  • Set up and stock the wok station with fresh ingredients, sauces and necessary kitchen tools
  • Ensure all food is cooked in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats and making sauces
  • Monitor food inventory and communicate with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe workstation throughout the shift
  • Collaborate with chefs, and other kitchen staff to uphold the restaurants

Qualifications: 

  • Wok cook experience is a must (2 + years' experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Burmese and Southeast Asian cuisine, including ingredients, spices and cooking techniques
  • Expertise in high-heat wok cooking, stir frying, and proper handling of traditional Burmese/Southeast Asian cooking equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong knife skills and ability to prep ingredients efficiently
  • Ability to acquire a Food Handlers license, Sexual Harassment certification (before or withing 2 weeks of hiring) 
  • Bilingual is a plus
