The Vice President, Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (VP, Strategic FP&A) will be a key member of Nextiva’s finance leadership team, responsible for scaling a world-class finance function in a fast-growing, dynamic private company. This leader will drive financial rigor, deliver actionable insights, and enable strategic decision-making across the business.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong partnership with executive leadership, as well as cross-functional influence across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations.

The VP, Strategic FP&A will combine deep financial expertise with modern data, systems, and AI-driven capabilities to transform how financial insights are generated, operationalized, and embedded into decision-making across the company.

Role Overview:

The VP, Strategic FP&A is a strategic, innovative, and operationally strong finance executive with expertise in financial planning & analysis, decision support, financial systems, and transformation. This individual will lead the evolution of FP&A from a traditional reporting function into a predictive, data-driven, and AI-enabled strategic partner to the business.

This role requires strong process orientation, exceptional business partnership skills, and the ability to influence beyond finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead company-wide financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes
  • Develop dynamic, driver-based financial models to predict revenue, expenses, and cash flow
  • Continuously refine forecasts using real-time business performance data and scenario modeling
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques to improve forecast accuracy and speed

Strategic Decision Support

  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives including product investments, pricing, GTM strategy, and M&A
  • Evaluate financial implications of business scenarios using advanced modeling and predictive analytics
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape long-term strategic direction

AI-Enabled Finance Transformation

  • Lead the adoption of AI and automation across FP&A processes, including:
    • Predictive forecasting and anomaly detection
    • Automated variance analysis and reporting
    • Natural language generation (NLG) for financial narratives
  • Partner with Data, Engineering, and RevOps teams to build scalable data models and finance data architecture
  • Evaluate and implement modern FP&A tools (e.g., adaptive planning platforms, AI copilots, automated reporting systems)
  • Establish governance, accuracy, and transparency standards for AI-driven financial insights

Performance Metrics & KPI Ownership

  • Define, standardize, and evolve company-wide KPIs (e.g., MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, efficiency metrics)
  • Build scalable dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide real-time visibility into business performance
  • Identify key value drivers and translate data into actionable insights

Analytics & Decision Support

  • Develop advanced analytics capabilities, including:
    • Cohort analysis
    • Unit economics modeling
    • Customer and revenue segmentation
  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations for business leaders
  • Support investment prioritization across Product, Sales, and Marketing

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting Cadence

  • Own the company’s financial planning cadence (annual plan, quarterly forecasts, monthly/weekly reporting)
  • Prepare executive and Board-level materials with clear insights and recommendations
  • Drive alignment across functions to produce an integrated company-wide plan
  • Lead executive reviews of performance vs. plan

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic advisor to functional leaders across the organization
  • Embed finance into operational decision-making across GTM, Product, and Customer Success
  • Support financial evaluation of partnerships, pricing strategies, and expansion opportunities

Risk Management

  • Identify and manage financial and operational risks
  • Utilize scenario modeling and predictive analytics to anticipate risks and opportunities
  • Monitor macroeconomic, market, and business-specific trends

Investor & Stakeholder Support

  • Support CFO in investor communications, board interactions, and capital strategy
  • Deliver clear, data-driven narratives on financial performance and outlook

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing FP&A organization (7–10+ team members)
  • Develop a modern finance team skilled in analytics, systems, and AI-enabled tools
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Optimize organizational structure, leveraging automation to increase team impact
  • Coach and develop talent, building strong bench strength

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of corporate FP&A in a public or late-stage private growth company
  • Strong preference for experience in SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue business models
  • Demonstrated success driving financial transformation and process improvement
  • Experience implementing or scaling financial systems and planning tools

AI & Data Competencies (Required):

  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics, data platforms, or AI/ML in finance or business decision-making
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data modeling and financial systems architecture
    • Predictive forecasting and scenario modeling
    • Business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
  • Ability to partner effectively with Data/Engineering teams on data infrastructure
  • Familiarity with emerging AI capabilities in finance (automation, copilots, NLP, anomaly detection)
