Job Description

National Vision is seeking a results-driven, strategic, and innovative Media Director to lead our media strategy. This critical leadership role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive media plans across both traditional channels (TV, radio, print, out-of-home) as well as emerging media channels (paid search, paid social, and affiliate), ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives. The Media Director will manage a performance marketing manager, who oversees paid search, paid social media, and affiliate network strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media planning and buying, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and a proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across functions.

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

  • Develop and execute integrated media strategies to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Oversee media planning and buying across traditional channels, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams, including marketing, merchandising, and creative, to ensure cohesive and integrated campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with digital and social media teams to ensure seamless cross-channel integration.
  • Manage media budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to maximize ROI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and agency partners.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with media partners, securing favorable terms and pricing.
  • Analyze media performance data and campaign results, providing actionable insights to optimize campaigns.
  • Present regular performance reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a manager of performance marketing, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Manage the Digital Marketing Manager, who oversees paid search, paid social media, and affiliate network strategies.
  • Evaluate the needs of the media team to ensure full coverage for all media channels.
  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to ensure team growth and effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of media industry trends, innovations, and best practices.
  • Identify and recommend new approaches to effectively reach and engage target audiences.

Qualifications

Work Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in media planning and buying, with a proven track record of driving results and maximizing ROI. (Required)
  • 3+ years in a leadership role. (Required)

Education

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. in marketing, advertising, business, or a related field. (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
