Position Summary
The Data Analytics Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, models, and analytics solutions that enable actionable insights across a multi-site Dental Support Organization (DSO). This role ensures data integrity, scalability, and accessibility for reporting and advanced analytics, supporting operational, clinical, and financial decision-making. Reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager, the Data Analytics Engineer will collaborate with IT, Operations, and Finance teams to deliver high-quality data reports, products, and dashboards.
Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Integration
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from PMS platforms (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud) and ancillary systems.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across multiple sources (clinical, RCM, patient engagement, imaging).
- Optimize data workflows for performance and scalability in cloud environments (Azure).
Data Modeling & Architecture
- Design and implement data models for operational, financial, and clinical analytics.
- Support the creation of semantic layers for BI tools (Power BI).
- Maintain documentation for data structures, lineage, and governance.
Analytics & Reporting
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to deliver dashboards and reports that drive decision-making.
- Implement KPIs and metrics for production, collections, AR, schedule utilization, and treatment acceptance.
- Support ad-hoc data requests and advanced analytics initiatives.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Enforce data security and privacy standards in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Participate in periodic audits and ensure proper access controls for sensitive data.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate data processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay current on emerging technologies in data engineering and analytics.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in data engineering or analytics roles, preferably in dental, healthcare, or multi-site environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases; proficiency in ETL tools and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
- Certifications: Microsoft Data Engineer, or similar preferred
- Experience with PMS platforms (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud) and healthcare workflows preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory).
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and data visualization best practices.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements (HIPAA).
- Knowledge of APIs, integration frameworks, and data warehousing concepts.
- Exposure to advanced analytics (predictive modeling, machine learning) is a plus.
- Detail orientated and comfortable working a fast-paced office environment
