Training and Development Specialist (On-site, Arlington, TX)

Description
As the Training and Development Specialist, you will lead a structured and consistent onboarding experience, ensuring new hires develop the skills they need to succeed. You will work cross-functionally to track progress, identify skill gaps, and support cross-training initiatives. This role also contributes to the growth of senior operators by facilitating targeted training and development opportunities.

What you’ll do
- Lead and facilitate the new hire onboarding and training process
- Collaborate with training personnel across all facilities to support, enhance, and maintain every aspect of our training programs from onboarding to advanced skill development
- Track training progress and ensure new hires meet required competencies
- Partner with department leaders to identify skill gaps and training needs
- Support cross-training initiatives across all departments
- Assist senior operators with development plans and targeted skill-building
- Coordinate refreshers sessions and follow-up training as needed, ensuring training materials, documentation, and standards remain up to date
- Maintain clear communication with leadership on training progress and needs
- Promote a positive, supportive learning environment for all employees
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in training, onboarding, workforce development, or a related role
- Experience facilitating group training sessions or workshops
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track training progress and maintain documentation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with department leaders and stakeholders
- Ability to identify skill gaps and support structured development plans
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in training coordination, learning & development, or employee development
- Experience developing and maintaining training materials, SOPs, and competency frameworks
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tracking tools
- Experience supporting cross-departmental training initiatives
- Experience coaching employees and supporting leadership development efforts
- Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and grasp items as needed
Work Environment
- This role works across office and manufacturing environments
- Exposure to production areas with machinery, noise, and temperature variation
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in manufacturing areas
