About the Role

JOB FUNCTION

To create an exceptional customer experience by establishing, maintaining, and deepening relationships by determining customer needs, opening deposit accounts, processing loans, providing deposit and loan account servicing, performing teller transactions and initiating referrals to other areas of the bank.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Create an exceptional customer experience by building relationships, evaluating needs, providing education, and recommending products and services.
  • Follow the bank’s established sales and service process.
  • Analyze customer needs so that appropriate recommendations can be made to new and existing customers. 
  • Perform account openings, customer maintenance, processing loan applications and closing loans in keeping with established procedures to ensure timely service delivery. Complete new customer/new account onboarding activities as assigned.
  • Engage proactively in campaigns and promotions, ensuring timely completion of activities and scheduling follow-up tasks as needed.
  • Effective use of CRM to capture prospect/customer information, record customer activities, schedule follow up activities, identify next likely sales opportunities and other related activities to facilitate robust customer relationship management.
  • Ensure the needs of the customer are being met and help strengthen relationships by cross selling and referring to partners, such as Business Banking, Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Trust, when financial needs are identified.
  • Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations, and all established bank policies and procedures. 
  • May assist with processing reporting such as NSF and Past Due.
  • Process a variety of customer transactions, which may include cash handling by hand, via cash recyclers, ATMs, and/or Automated Banking Machines.
  • Adhere to established safety and security protocols.
  • Assist with opening and closing of banking centers to include Saturday rotation.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Work Experience 

  • 6 months of cash handling experience.
  • 1 Year experience of working in a financial services environment or a consultative sales environment.
  • Experience providing customer service through various forms of communication (face to face, email, and telephone). 
  • Demonstrated sales and service experience with proven success in establishing and meeting sales goals. 


Preferred Experience (Optional)

  • Knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Knowledge of new account opening process.
  • Experience working in a Universal Banker role.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving assigned goals.

 

Supervisory Experience 

  • N/A


Education/Skills/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in sales environment. 

 

Equipment/Machines/Software 

  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Programs (Outlook, 

Word, Excel, and Power Point).

  • Proficiency in search engines/web browsers and Adobe Reader.
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, shredders, fax machines and

other digital devices.

  • Ability to use Financial Service Platform software.

  • Excellent customer service skills to include good verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to communicate face to face with customers. 
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to multi-task and follow assigned tasks through completion.
  • Must be able to focus on details and be accurate.

  • Must be accustomed to a fast-paced office environment.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to reach, bend, push, and pull files up to 30 pounds. 
  • Must be able to sit/stand for most of the day in front of a computer screen. 
  • Must be able to speak to and hear to communicate with customers.
  • Must be able to type on a keyboard.
  • Must be able to read a laptop/computer monitor.
  • Must be able to reach teller tubes.
  • Must be mobile in an office environment.
