Your role at St John of God Health Care
As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for the development, customisation, configuration, support, and maintenance of hospital and corporate systems within St John of God Health Care to meet business objectives.
You will design and build enterprise applications using .NET technologies, working across front-end, back-end, and system integrations to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. The role also involves producing high-quality system documentation and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure business needs are met and continuous improvement is achieved.
The Position
Participating in various stages of the software development life cycle to create, deliver and support Hospital and Corporate applications for use across the SJGHC organisation.
Developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge of applications and data integrations developed by the team.
Attending to Service Desk Requests to ensure all incidents and requests are responded to in a timely manner.
Working with the Business Engagement and Design team to understand the requirements of projects in the pipe-line.
Working with the Project Delivery team to provide time and resource estimates on projects.
Assisting with the preparation of technical specifications and estimates of effort to design, develop and deliver approved solutions.
Ensuring appropriate level of version management and change control are adhered to in line with the standards, policies and guidelines in the team.
Developing, maintaining and documenting all systems in accordance with best practice and industry standards.
Assisting in investigating and advising on possible solutions to specific business needs.
Maintaining knowledge of current technology developments and trends within information systems.
Provide on-call and out-of-hours support as required to meet service level agreements.
Ability to travel within WA and Interstate, if required.
It is essential you have proven experience in front-end application design and development, including modern JavaScript frameworks, along with strong knowledge of back-end database design and relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle. You will also possess a solid understanding of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) principles, including web services, messaging, SOA, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
You will demonstrate at least three years’ experience in software development using technologies such as C#/.NET, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Additionally, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and software design patterns, with the ability to apply them effectively in application development.
To succeed you will possess a tertiary qualification in Information Systems or related discipline or other relevant qualifications plus experience. You will have experience in managing or working with organisation-wide IT applications and the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage workload effectively
It is highly regarded if you have experience working with hospital applications within a healthcare environment, along with familiarity with healthcare integration standards such as HL7 messaging, and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps.

Salary: $124,196 to $137,946 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
Permanent full-time position working 76 hours a fortnight
Based at Perth CBD office with 40% work from home option
