About the Role

Description

Summary: The Lead Charcuterie Clerk will assist the Charcuterie Manager with the daily operations, merchandising, and overseeing personnel in accordance with company policies and standards. The Lead serves as the primary subject matter expert, ensuring the department meets sales target while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide recommendations on specific meat and cheese pairings based on customer preferences or special occasions
  • Responsible for training and coaching associates within the department to effectively perform their job duties.
  • Slicing and wrapping meats and cheeses to specific customers requests or for display
  • Build signature charcuterie boards or party trays
  • Ensures products are rotated using FIFO (First In, First Out) to help manage inventory levels and minimize shrinkage
  • Stock, label and ensure proper signage.
  • Assists with maintaining strict food safety standards (slicers are properly sanitized)
  • Receives, inspects and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
  • Sweep and mop floors as well as empty trash. Assist with sanitation process.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Requirements

Qualifications:

This position requires full availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.  


Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least 1 year in a specialized deli, meat cutting, or fine food retail environment.


Skills:  

Knowledge of curing techniques, cheese pairings, and ability to operate equipment like slicers.
