About the Role

Description


Jones-Hamilton Co., a leading chemical manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician for our Richburg, South Carolina facility. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. Maintenance Technician is responsible for minimizing downtime and optimizing production. This role requires a thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely in a highly regulated environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of plant infrastructure, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Resolve facility maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in all activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and update maintenance logs and records.
  • Assist in installing new mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Adhere to electrical safety standards and protocols.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Participate in safety training and drills.
  • Report on unsafe conditions or practices to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, production staff, and management.
  • Provide support and training to junior technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and loud noises.
  • Day-shift position supporting 24/7 operations. Willingness to work on-call, PTO coverage, and overtime as needed.
  • Lift and carry heavy objects up to 100 pounds or more.
  • Climb stairs, ladders (up to 140’), and platforms; work in confined spaces and awkward positions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Stand for long periods, sometimes in hot or uncomfortable conditions.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and continuous movement throughout the shift.
  • Be in good physical health with no conditions preventing safe job performance.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to detect equipment malfunctions and read gauges.
  • Constant awareness of safety hazards; follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
