Job Description
About the Role:
We’re seeking a high-caliber Finance Manager to join our South Asia team in Hyderabad!
As the "right-hand" to the Finance Senior Manager, you will take direct ownership of financial reporting, statutory excellence, and local governance for our India and South Asia operations. This role is for a technical expert who loves the details of GAAP convergence (IFRS/US GAAP to iGAAP) and thrives on building robust, in-house accounting foundations. You will bridge the gap between global standards and local requirements, ensuring Wise remains the gold standard for compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Statutory Financials: Own the end-to-end preparation of local statutory financial statements. Lead the drafting of disclosures and notes, ensuring full compliance with iGAAP and the Companies Act.
- Audit & Regulatory: Act as the primary lead for external audit execution. Coordinate the process from initial planning and walkthroughs to finalization, ensuring a clean and timely audit cycle.
- GAAP Convergence: Lead the "convergence" process, performing complex reconciliations and adjustments to translate Group reporting (IFRS/US GAAP) into Local Statutory requirements (iGAAP).
- Analysis & Management Reporting: Provide deep-dive variance analysis (Actuals vs. Forecast). Convert statutory data into meaningful management insights for the Country Manager and Regional leadership.
- Tax & FEMA Coordination: Partner with the APAC Tax team to ensure precise filings for GST, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, and FEMA.
- Internal Process & Ownership: Drive the maturity of our regional accounting environment by taking direct ownership of reporting workflows. You will coordinate the in-housing of "Record-to-Report" processes, ensuring absolute data integrity and scalability as we grow.
Qualifications
About You
- The Experience: Qualified Accountant (CA or equivalent) with 5–8 years of experience in financial controlling, audit (Big 4 preferred), or core accounting—ideally in FinTech | Financial Service.
- Technical: Deep understanding of India Statutory GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP. You have proven expertise in financial reporting, local governance, and controls specific to India.
- Process Ownership: You are who enjoys the "end-to-end" process. You are comfortable with hands-on ownership of the accounting cycle.
- Communication: You can explain complex local tax or GAAP issues to a global team in a way that is clear, concise, and actionable.
