Commodities Team Lead | 3rd Shift

Summary:
The Commodities Team Lead plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by working in
conjunction with their leader to provide guidance and day to day direction for our Commodities team members. They ensure
efficient and accurate processing of product and orders for our customers and other branches. They ensure processes are in place
and recommend improvement opportunities to manage work flow, promote safety, provide training, promote proficiency in
shipping product, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance in the wire center while supporting a positive work
environment. A successful Commodities Lead is a self-starter, works autonomously, and performs all of the duties and
responsibilities of a Commodities Team Member in such a manner that sets an example for others. This individual is seen as a leader
and continually coaches and mentors others on the team so they may continually improve. Their leadership should promote our
culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Oversee the team by providing direction, support, and holding team members accountable
- Manage efficient, safe, and accurate processing of products
- Encourage creative thinking and continuous improvement within the team
- Create a cohesive team attitude
- Provide training and cross-training to all team members
- Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback
- Assist Production Manager in handling employee issues and performance management
- Assist in maintaining distribution center cleanliness and order
- Analyze daily reports and custom spreadsheets
- Maintain adherence and promote safety policies and initiatives
- Assist in ensuring the highest of quality and timeliness of orders
- Create and sustain a positive team atmosphere within the Wire Center
- Coaching and mentoring other team members
- Prioritize work flow and monitor cut-off times
- Assign team members to other departments when work flow dictates
- Support team members by leading team lifts
- Handle internal customer requests and concerns
- Promote our culture and 5 P’s

Job Requirements/Specifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Two year degree preferred
- One year previous distribution center experience preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Electrical product knowledge is a plus
- Ability to lift 100 lbs on a consistent basis
- Ability to operate lift truck equipment
- Ability to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
- Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
- Demonstrated computer skills
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
