Project Manager


Parratt-Wolff, Inc. – Watsontown, PA


Parratt-Wolff, Inc., a geotechnical and environmental drilling firm is looking to add a project manager to their Watsontown team. The ideal candidate will have a consulting engineering or geology background with demonstrated experience/interest in field operations. Previous experience around drill rigs, pumps, packers and well development projects is required.


This position entails:


  • Preparation of job cost estimates and written proposals including all required client submittals.
  • Preparation and submittal of all required project submittals such as, but not limited to, well permit applications, road opening permit applications, certificate of insurance requests, etc.
  • Preparation of job specific details (load lists) and provide field crew with all necessary information for successful job completion, in written and/or graphical form as necessary.
  • Ensures that project specific health and safety requirements are identified and relayed to all crew members and managers.
  • Actively supports corporate safety policy and culture by attending all safety meetings, holds project specific safety meetings and assists with the implementation of the Company safety program.
  • Coordinate with operations manager to ensure necessary materials and tooling will be available (either by ordering or schedule coordination) at the required time.
  • Assist in the loading of company equipment and inspects field crews and job sites as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
  • Inspect and log soil samples and prepare test borings reports and other project documentation as needed.
  • Preparation of project invoices and progress reports.
  • Market and sell company services to build new client relationships. Capitalize on existing relationships to gain additional work opportunities.



Requirements

The ideal candidate has:

  • Basic knowledge of geology and geotechnical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of the environmental consulting industry
  • Five years of project management skills including estimating, proposal writing, project management, contract management and negotiating and invoicing.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and orally.
  • The ability to self-motivate, manage multiple tasks, and possess good time management skills.
  • Field experience with working around drill rigs and construction equipment.
  • Proficient with working on a computer and using Microsoft programs.

Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and work experience that will permit the candidate to fulfill the job description. 
  • A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards.
  • Must obtain and maintain all mandatory licenses and training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally work in field environment with exposure to dust, noise, inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to work on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift and carry 80-pounds 50’ in distance repeatedly throughout a workday.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment to include computers, copiers, faxes, etc.
  • Ability to frequently use hands for typing, filing, and performing other administrative duties
