Medical Billing Specialist (Hybrid)

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

In person for the initial training period (estimated 4-8 weeks) and then will be 2 days in office and 3 remote.

MCHC is seeking a qualified Medical Billing Specialist with demonstrated medical billing experience and/or formal medical billing education. If you’re detail-oriented, enjoy solving problems, and want to be part of a team that truly makes a difference, we want to meet you!   

What You’ll Do

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims to insurance payers (electronic and paper) 
• Verify patient eligibility and ensure accurate insurance and demographic information 
• Post payments from insurance carriers and patients 
• Analyze and follow up on accounts receivable (AR) and aging reports 
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and discrepancies 
• Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and apply appropriate billing actions 
• Assist patients with billing questions while providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• One+ years of related experience in medical/billing reimbursement environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience which may include one or more of the following: Medical billing college classes, medical billing certification, or related medical billing experience.

Preferred Qualification

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
