Location: hybrid (remote and Camp Wai Lani, Palm Harbor, FL)
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Summer Camp BayCare Grant Evaluation Specialist to support evaluation efforts for the Love My Body, My Life, My World summer camp program. This temporary role will focus on designing and implementing evaluation tools that measure program impact across multiple milestones throughout and after the camp experience.
The Evaluation Specialist will support the development of assessment tools that ensure programming is evidence-based, age-appropriate, and effective. Through pre-camp, post-camp, and follow-up assessments, this role will help measure participant growth and program outcomes, including whether participants demonstrate improved health knowledge through pre- and post-assessments. This position plays a critical role in documenting outcomes tied to BayCare grant requirements, informing continuous program improvement, and strengthening GSWCF’s ability to evaluate the long-term impact of wellness-focused camp experiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop assessment tools for pre-camp, post-camp, and follow-up evaluations at 1-month and 3-month intervals
- Design tools that support evidence-based, age-appropriate programming and measure program effectiveness
- Create pre- and post-assessments to evaluate changes in participant health knowledge, awareness, perceptions, and behaviors
- Design surveys and data collection methods to track participant engagement and program impact over time
- Analyze and organize evaluation data related to the Love My Body, My Life, My World summer camp program
- Ensure all evaluation tools and reporting align with BayCare grant requirements
- Collaborate with program staff to gather insights and refine evaluation methods and tools
- Monitor response rates and support follow-up efforts to encourage participation in post-camp surveys
- Compile findings into clear, concise summaries, reports, and data snapshots as needed
- Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential records of participant responses
- Participate in limited on-site visits at Camp Wai Lani to support evaluation implementation and data collection as needed
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and age-appropriate assessment tools and survey instruments
- Experience with surveys, program evaluation, research methods, or data collection preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; experience with survey platforms or data tools is a plus
- Interest in youth development, nonprofit work, public health, wellness education, or program evaluation
