About the Role:

The Lube Technician plays a critical role in maintaining vehicle performance and safety by performing routine lubrication and maintenance services. This position ensures that vehicles operate smoothly by applying lubricants to various mechanical components, checking fluid levels, and identifying potential issues before they escalate. The technician will work closely with customers and team members to provide timely and efficient service, contributing to overall customer satisfaction. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are paramount to prevent equipment failure and extend vehicle lifespan. Ultimately, the Lube Technician supports the operational efficiency of the service center by delivering high-quality maintenance services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and lubrication procedures.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar automotive maintenance role.
  • Certification from an automotive service excellence program (e.g., ASE).
  • Familiarity with computerized service tracking systems.
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to perform minor vehicle inspections.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine lubrication services including oil changes, grease applications, and fluid top-offs on a variety of vehicles.
  • Inspect vehicles for signs of wear or damage and report any issues to the service manager or technician team.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain services performed and recommend additional maintenance when necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations related to handling automotive fluids and waste disposal.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Lube Technician to perform precise lubrication and maintenance tasks efficiently, ensuring vehicles are serviced correctly and safely. Attention to detail is essential for identifying potential mechanical issues and preventing future breakdowns. Physical stamina and dexterity allow the technician to handle tools and equipment effectively while maintaining productivity throughout the workday.
