Job title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Reports to: Nursing Supervisor 

Summary:

 This position works closely with the management team and treatment team to ensure that the compatibility and integrity of the programs are upheld. The LVN helps to ensure clients are safely monitored throughout detoxification, and all facets of the day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Support oversite of participants day to day operations and services
  • Assist management team and treatment team with client supervision and service delivery
  • Serves as liaison for Medical Director
  • Ensures clients are safely monitored throughout detoxification
  • Assist in maintenance of program records and files
  • Ensure regular drug screens are conducts as directed by management staff and tests are logged appropriately
  • Assure Incident Reports are recorded and reported
  • Assure adherence to all safety rules and regulations
  • Provide client transportation, if applicable
  • Other tasks as assigned by the program management

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

The ideal candidate will have counseling experience in a substance abuse treatment center setting. Registered Recovery Worker mandatory and Licensed Vocational Nurse or eligible for licensure. In addition, the following are strongly desired:

  • Experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Clerical skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A minimum of one-year sobriety if recovering
  • Culturally competent
  • Clean driving record required if driving is a requirement

**Per State of CA, all client facing employees must be fully vaccinated by the end of September 2021.**

Medical History: All employees whose functions require or necessitate contact with client or food preparation shall complete a health screening report or a health questionnaire. Health screening report or health questionnaire will be provided upon hire. For all residential employees a health screening report, be completed and signed off by a medical practitioner signature for clearance. All outpatient employees will complete at minimum a self-report screening questionnaire.    

TB test are to be conducted under licensed medical supervision not more than 60 calendar days prior to or 7 calendar days after employment and renewed annually from the date of the last tuberculosis test.  Staff with a known record of tuberculosis or record of positive testing shall not be required to obtain a tuberculosis skin test. Unless there is documentation that the staff completed at least 6 months of preventive therapy, the staff shall be required to obtain, within 45 calendar days of employment, a chest x-ray result and a physician’s statement that the incumbent does not have communicable tuberculosis and has been under regular care and monitoring for tuberculosis. A chest x-ray within the prior 6 months is acceptable. The physician’s statement shall be renewed annually.
