$16.00 - $19.00
- This position is responsible for supporting front-of-house operations by managing guest reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming environment.
- At least one year of work experience in a similar role is highly preferred
- Hourly, plus tips with benefits available
- Work schedule includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reports to Manager on Duty
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking host to join our team at Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine. As the first point of contact at Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, the host represents our brand and embodies our commitment to providing legendary service. This role requires a warm, outgoing personality with a passion for engaging with guests by creating memorable experiences including greeting guests with a genuine Turkish welcome.
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests immediately upon entry with a warm smile and say, “Hosgeldeniz, welcome to Bosphorous”
- Approach guests by coming out from behind the host stand to ensure personal interaction
- Seat guests at desirable tables and ensure they are satisfied with their seating
- Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the building
- Provide menus, inform guests of their server’s name, and communicate special requests or celebrations to the server
- Record guest names, party sizes, and provide estimated wait times when necessary
- Answer phone calls professionally with the greeting: “Thank you for calling Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine location, this is name. How may I assist you?”
- Document large party inquiries and pass them to management for follow-up
- Maintain contact with servers to address dining details and guest concerns
- Check tables for availability, cleanliness, and proper setup regularly
- Keep the host stand and entry area clean and organized
- Ensure menu books are always clean and update with lunch specials when needed
- Record and manage dining reservations, including special requests and preferences
- Inspect and clean restrooms hourly
- Direct guests waiting to be seated to enjoy the bar or other waiting area
- Offer samples to passers-by when not otherwise engaged
- Relay messages to servers and bussers regarding large parties
- Thank departing guests and invite them to return with a farewell Turkish phrase
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support restaurant operations

Requirements
Experience working as a host or in a similar role
Standing / Walking up to 8 hours continuously
Lifting up to 20 lbs alone, and up to 40 lbs as a team
