Job Summary:
The Orthopedic Institute is seeking an Neurosurgeon specializing in Spine Surgery to join our practice based in our Gainesville offices. TOI has an established 40+ year legacy practice with 9 clinic locations across Florida, 6 Express Ortho urgent care sites driving same- and next-day access and 45+ physicians across multiple subspecialties. Our physicians practice across the full musculoskeletal continuum including sports medicine, spine, trauma, reconstruction, interventional pain, and more. Our robust infrastructure allows surgeons to operate at the top of their license.

Requirements
EDUCATION and LICENSURE:
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery
- Fellowship training in Spine Surgery required
- Experience or interest in complex spine, degenerative spine, and minimally invasive techniques preferred
- Clear and active license in the respective state (or willingness to obtain state license)
EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes demanding environment.
- Experience with a wide range of medical conditions
- Strong triage and multitasking skills
SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of common diseases and disorders.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate difficult conversations professionally.
- Patience, exceptional bedside manner, and the ability to empathize with the patient.
- Ongoing professional development and conference participation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
