Home to Ironstone Ranch, St. Michael’s Vineyard, and The Star Barn, Stone Gables Estate offers a one-of-a-kind historic setting for events such as weddings and receptions, corporate events, train rides, horseback riding, and public community events. It’s wedding season and we're looking for someone with industry experience, a heart for serving others, and the ability to oversee  the flawless execution of  unforgettable events 


The Event Host & Support role at Stone Gables Estate (SGE) creates a fun, welcoming, and relaxed atmosphere during scheduled events while providing oversight, security, and safety for all clients, guests, vendors, and employees.

Requirements

  • Experience in Hospitality field preferred.
  • Must always be courteous, friendly, professional, and personable. High interpersonal intelligence ability.
  • Ability to be punctual with attendance.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills and exemplary oral communication skills. Must have flexibility to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and follow provided dress code guidelines. Must possess social awareness and be able to discern when an event needs additional security.
  • Must understand and practice the Five Star customer service philosophy of the organization. Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple functions and responsibilities simultaneously. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Part Time position with events taking place on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 
  • Must be available on Saturdays 
  • Team environment with shift flexibility 

Primary Job Duties

  • Serves as the Day-of Host for weddings, corporate events, non-profit events, and SGE dinners on the day of their event.
  • Has the option to work public, seasonal events fulfilling duties as assigned by the event coordinator. Attends and assists with final walk throughs and wedding rehearsals when possible.
  • Ensures that the event space is open, clean, set up properly prior to the event, and properly secured after the event.
  • Greets and oversees vendors to ensure standards and policies are being met on event days. Assists clients, guests, and vendors with challenges, questions, and concerns in a polite and professional manner for the duration of their event.
  • Greet guests politely as they enter and leave the venue.
  • Directs guests to appropriate locations, such as parking, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, restrooms etc.
  • Creates a positive, relaxed, and professional atmosphere where guests can enjoy their experience. Assists with event needs such as, but not limited to, moving tables and chairs, clearing linens and tables, cleaning/mopping spills, and emptying trash cans.
  • Has extensive knowledge of Stone Gables venues, buildings, supplies and innerworkings of the estate. Assists with event duties such as, but not limited to parking, driving guests in golf carts, tearing down chairs, handling animals, driving for photo loops, and helping with wagons and carriages.
  • Is knowledgeable of the lighting systems, audio/visual systems, HVAC controls, and electrical and mechanical systems of each venue.
  • Attends host team meetings as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, handle objects, talk, and hear
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds with team assistance or equipment
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors, including wet or humid weather conditions
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise levels
