Assistant General Manager

Home2 Suites Minnetonka is looking for an energetic, hands-on, and driven Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager in leading our team, supporting operations, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed, valued, and cared for. This isn’t a “sit behind the desk” kind of role. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, jump-in, lead-by-example leadership opportunity where you help set the tone, culture, and standard for excellence.  


What You’ll Be Doing

Lead the Day-to-Day Operations

  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure smooth and successful daily hotel operations
  • Jump in where needed — front desk, guest support, problem solving, and team leadership
  • Regularly cover front desk shifts and support peak operational times
  • Serve as the Manager on Duty during scheduled shifts and weekends

Be a Visible, Supportive Leader

  • Inspire, motivate, and support team members across all departments
  • Help hire, train, coach, and develop a strong and engaged team
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and fun work culture
  • Lead by example — your attitude sets the tone

Create Exceptional Guest Experiences

  • Interact with guests daily and ensure they feel genuinely welcomed
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and care
  • Monitor guest feedback and help drive continuous improvement

Help Drive Hotel Performance

  • Support financial goals, cost control, and operational efficiency
  • Help ensure brand standards and Golder Hospitality expectations are consistently met
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained property

Schedule & Availability Expectations ?

Hospitality never sleeps — and neither does great leadership. This role includes:

  • Working a variety of scheduled shifts based on business needs
  • Regular shifts between 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Weekend shifts typically between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, serving as the Manager on Duty
  • Participating in the on-call rotation to support the team and property when needed
  • Flexibility to support operations during high occupancy periods and team coverage needs

Requirements

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in hotel management or a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • Prior hotel leadership experience (Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Department Leader)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management
  • Ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and tact
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Experience:- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform the duties- The Home2 Suites Minnetonka is a 102-room hotel and comparable hotel size and scope of experience is preferred  We offer a vibrant work environment that values growth, innovation, and teamwork.
