About the Role

Qatar Airways is seeking experienced professionals for the role of GBS Transition Officer based at Combined Delivery Center (CDC) in Ahmedabad, India.

The GBS Transition Officer plays a critical role in operationalizing the migration of processes from Qatar Airways’ Doha operations to the Combined Delivery Centre (CDC) in India. This position ensures that all transition waves are executed seamlessly, adhering to agreed timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements. The role focuses on coordinating knowledge transfer (KT), on-the-job training (OJT), and readiness activities, while monitoring cutover and ramp-up phases to maintain business continuity. Acting as the primary link between the Transition Manager, service line leads, and support functions (HR, IT, Facilities), the officer ensures that resources, infrastructure, and documentation are in place for each wave. Success in this role directly impacts the stability of post-transition operations, stakeholder confidence, and achievement of Qatar Airways’ strategic objectives for global service deliver.

Responsibilities:

  • Transition Wave Execution - Coordinate KT/OJT schedules, trainer availability, and resource onboarding to ensure readiness for each transition wave.
  • Cutover & Ramp-Up Support - Monitor cutover activities and ramp-up progress; escalate issues promptly  to achieve smooth go-live and SLA adherence.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting - Update trackers and dashboards with wave status, tollgate sign-offs, and readiness metrics  to provide accurate visibility to PMO and leadership.
  • Issue Resolution & Escalation - Identify operational blockers during KT/OJT and ramp-up; liaise with service line leads and support teams  to minimize delays and maintain timelines.
  • Compliance & Documentation - Ensure SOPs, training records, and tollgate documents are updated and stored in SharePoint\ Teams site  to support audit readiness and governance standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination - Work closely with HR, IT, Facilities, and trainers for access provisioning, seating, and infra readiness to enable uninterrupted transition execution.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors degree with Minimum 3 years of job - related experience
  • Previous experience in Shared Services\GBS\GCC\ BPO transition function
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transition waves simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and SharePoint for reporting and documentation.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • First class collaboration and team working
  • Ability to work independently and develop solutions within scope of accountability
