Pack Lead

Powder Coating Systems, an independent provider of Sandblasting and Powder Coating services, is presently taking applications for a Pack Lead. This is a lead position, responsible for leading a team in inspecting and packing completed parts for our customers. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 1:00PM to 9:30PM. This is a full-time position. 

Starting pay for this position is between $22-25 per hour. (This is determined by the Owner of the company who will be choosing the best candidate after the interviews are completed and a background check is done.) 

Our employees get paid twice a month around the 1st and 15th.

This position is physical requiring standing, bending, kneeling and lifting. Employees in this position usually act as second-in-command of the shift assuming control when the Shift Supervisor is absent due to illness or vacation. This requires them to: 

-be able to read an excel spreadsheet print out to determine tasks to accomplish during their shift. 

-using a tablet to move jobs through the process including reading the directions and inventory of parts. 

-assisting floor team members to inspect parts per our quality standards and pack parts for customer pickup or delivery. 

-operating a sit-down forklift to move completed jobs to the yard for storage. 

-assisting the rest of the team with hanging and prepping jobs to be coated including annotating them in our ERP. 

-other tasks as delegated by the Shift Supervisor. 

Past Pack Leads have been promoted to other positions in our company including Supervisor and other support positions. 

Requirements

The following are the minimum requirements for this position: 

-Applicant must show evidence of 2-5 years of Lead experience. 

-Applicant must possess a current, legal driver's license. (This is a requirement to operate our sit-down forklifts.) 

-Applicant must be able to repetitively lift fifty pounds. (We have forklifts and an indoor crane available for heavier objects as well as encourage team members to use two-person carries when necessary. 

-Applicants must be able to read, write and understand English although we encourage bilingual applicants to apply. 

-Applicants must possess documentation that 1.) proves identity and 2.) proves the right to work in the United States. (Per Federal law, these documents must be the originals and not copies. We are also required to complete the I-9 within two days of hire.) 

-Applicants must be able to operate a sit-down forklift. (We do not require outside certification, but operation of a forklift is essential for packing jobs.) 

Please note that applicants will have a reference check performed prior to an offer of employment. 

The following are not mandatory, but may be helpful: 

-Experience working in a powder coating operation. 

-Experience as a quality control person. 

-Forklift experience.
