FLEET SAFETY ANALYST


Department: Corporate - Safety

Location:  Corporate Office – Cerritos, CA

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Safety Analyst to support the organization’s safety and transportation operations through data tracking, telematics systems management, and performance reporting. This role is responsible for monitoring driver behavior data, analyzing safety trends, and supporting the development of reporting tools that enhance visibility into fleet performance and regulatory compliance.


The Fleet Safety Analyst serves as a key support function within the Safety & Compliance Department, working closely with leadership to track CSA metrics, driver performance, and incident trends. This position focuses on maintaining accurate reporting, assisting with safety initiatives, and ensuring that telematics and safety data are effectively translated into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically driven, and comfortable working with data systems in a structured, process-focused environment. This role is well-suited for candidates early in their careers or individuals with strong data capabilities seeking to grow within transportation safety and compliance.


Responsibilities

· Monitor and extract telematics data from fleet management systems, including Samsara or similar platforms

· Track and analyze driver safety performance metrics, including CSA and internal safety indicators

· Build, maintain, and update dashboards and recurring safety performance reports

· Support incident tracking, data entry, and reporting related to safety events and compliance metrics

· Identify trends and provide data-driven insights to support safety initiatives and risk reduction efforts

· Assist in the preparation and distribution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports

· Collaborate with Safety & Compliance leadership to improve reporting accuracy and system utilization

· Support onboarding and training efforts for drivers and staff related to safety systems and procedures

· Maintain organized records of safety data, reports, and compliance documentation

· Perform routine data validation and audits to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity


Requirements

Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills

· 0–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or related field (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets required

· Experience with telematics systems (Samsara, Lytx, or similar) preferred but not required

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

· Ability to organize, manage, and interpret data effectively

· Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly

· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment

· Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and grow

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred


Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

· While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects and equipment; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally and audibly.

· The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

· The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Occasional travel to company facilities may be required.


Work Environment / Position Structure

· This position is a fully office-based role located at the Ecology Auto Parts corporate office in Cerritos, California

· The Fleet Safety Analyst performs the majority of responsibilities through data analysis, telematics system management, and administrative reporting functions

· The role requires regular communication with Safety & Compliance leadership, field safety personnel, and operations teams to support data accuracy and reporting initiatives

· Travel to operational locations may occur periodically for training support, data validation, or safety-related initiatives but is not a routine requirement

· This role does not involve field driving, equipment operation, or direct mechanical or maintenance responsibilities


Compensation

The Fleet Safety Analyst position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, paid time off, and life insurance coverage. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, technical proficiency, and demonstrated analytical capability.
