Compensation: $30 per hour, 20 hours per week maximum

The Center on Colfax opened in 1976 has grown to become the largest LGBTQ community center in the Rocky Mountain region, giving voice to Colorado's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and playing a pivotal role in statewide initiatives to reduce harassment and discrimination. Today we are focused on fulfilling our mission by ensuring that every member of the LGBTQ community has access to the programs and resources they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.
General Description
The Development Assistant is a part-time, non-exempt hourly position working up to 20 hours per week that supports the day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and acknowledgment process. This role will be working in and reporting on our contact database as it pertains to communications, contact information, and constituent interactions with the organization, including tracking and acknowledging donations, supporting organizational events, and performing the clerical and administrative functions relating to development activities.
The critical administrative tasks fulfilled by this role help to ensure The Center’s loyal donors feel supported and connected.
Essential Functions
Data Management & Accounts Receivable
- Maintains donor database logging income from transfers, checks, cash, and donation forms.
- Collects and uploads records from multiple digital platforms.
- Creates fundraising links/source codes.
- Supports monthly reconciliation of the donor database with financial reports.
Stewardship & Acknowledgement
- Communicates with internal/external stakeholders via phone and email to provide information and resolve inquiries.
- Operates office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, phone) to produce documents and reports.
- Drafts, prints, and sends weekly donor acknowledgment letters.
- Prepares weekly donation reports for the VP of Development.
- Follows and improves internal database management processes.
Required Qualifications
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for donor correspondence.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with CRM software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage professionally with donors, board members, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in administration or non-profit work.
- Previous experience in a non-profit or office environment.
