Appalachian Mountain Health ("AMH"), a Federally Qualified Health Center network based in Asheville, NC, is looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a pediatric experience to join our exceptional clinical team. This position will practice at our Asheville NC Clinic location. You will also provide care to general primary care/family medicine patients as needed.
AMH provides comprehensive, accessible, patient-centered primary care to all, including low-income, medically underserved and uninsured populations, at six locations throughout Western North Carolina.
Our NP/PAs work closely with physicians, other advanced practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, and clinical and administrative support staff in a team-based approach to patient care.
AMH’s mission - to provide culturally competent, high-quality healthcare to the medically vulnerable population in western North Carolina - is rooted in a primary care and preventive services medical home model with fees for services adjusted on the basis of a patient’s ability to pay.

Requirements
Required qualifications include:
- Physician Assistant /Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution.
- Pediatric-focused Nurse Practitioner who will also provide care to general primary care/family medicine patients as needed.
- Current North Carolina PA-C or NP license.
- CAQ.
- CPR certification.
- At least one year of experience in a primary care setting functioning at the full extent of training and licensure
- Strong commitment to practicing in a community health setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking skills, the ability to handle stressful situations and the capacity to function independently.
- High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve AMH's mission.
