Risk Management Coordinator

We are seeking a Risk Management Coordinator to support our corporate Risk team in implementing and maintaining employee safety initiatives and administering our workers' compensation and safety program. This role plays a vital part in minimizing risk exposure, driving compliance, and supporting team members through claim resolution and return-to-work programs.
Essential Functions
Safety
- Assist in the coordination of employee auto safety programs to minimize or eliminate employee auto accidents.
- Administer and assign driver training programs
- Promptly and continuously communicate pertinent and appropriate information about safety programs to Risk Manager and other relevant committee members, the injured worker’s supervisor, and other internal resources to ensure coordinated and efficient program management
- Participate in periodic auto claims review meetings and makes recommendations for on-going claims handling
- Perform motor vehicle records checks for all employees and potential employees driving on behalf of the company
Workers’ Compensation
- Promptly initiate contact with all employees reporting workers’ compensation injuries and assist the Workers Compensation Coordinator to answer questions, coordinate benefits, schedule medical appointments, and various other aspects of assistance for injured workers.
- Ensure timely and thorough completion of First Report of Injury Form and maintains accurate logs and files regarding same; helps determine whether additional follow-up or investigation are warranted based on contents of form and other information received.
- Participate in “triage” process to determine whether claims warrant additional investigation, and if so, monitors and coordinates investigative process, ensuring information gathered is appropriately logged, stored, and shared with adjustor, broker, and internal resources, as appropriate.
- Promptly and continuously communicate pertinent and appropriate information about claims to the assigned insurance adjustor, insurance broker, Risk Manager and other relevant committee members, the injured worker’s supervisor, and other internal resources to ensure coordinated and efficient claims handling.
- Facilitate timely return to work by ensuring injured workers receive prompt and appropriate medical attention, ensuring appropriate information reaches the injured workers’ treating physicians to facilitate appropriate assignment of work restrictions (if any), and communicating relevant information to adjustor and injured workers’ supervisor.
- Assist in coordinating and tracking workers comp leave of absence assignment

- Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in risk management, workers’ compensation, or insurance is a plus
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn internal systems and workflow platforms
