As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Social Media Marketing Specialist brings social media expertise to the integrated, multiplatform promotion of national and local TV programming, community events and fundraising initiatives.
Leveraging a strong knowledge of social media best practices (platforms, cadence, creative) and real-time data and analytics, this role aims for continuous progress toward the following goals:
- Grow a community of engaged and loyal followers
- Serve an array of niche audiences including arts, science, history, news and culture
- Reflect and reinforce Cascade PBS’s brand voice and values
- Raise awareness and excitement for Cascade PBS programs and services
- Educate followers about the importance of their continued support
Salary range: $30.74 - $34.27 per hour
Location: Seattle, WA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Draft and schedule posts across social media channels in support of a variety of organizational priorities (programming, events, fundraising)
- Track social media trends and best practices; identify new opportunities and adapt playbook
- Use data and audience insights to sharpen strategy and demonstrate impact
- Provide weekly audience insight reports and analysis
- Engage audiences through active posting, conversation, and responses
- Collaborate across marketing to deliver cohesive, multiplatform campaigns
- Coordinate with Campaign Specialist on paid media amplification
- Work closely with design and video teams to create distinctive, high-quality assets
- Steward our social spaces – monitoring and moderating to ensure a positive audience experience
- Maintain documentation of workflows, processes and policies
- Use Sprout Social and other tools for planning, scheduling and reporting
- Support the revenue team with sponsored content posts
- Contribute to a collaborative, curious, and mission-driven team culture
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Exceptional writing with the ability to adapt tone and style while maintaining a consistent brand voice
- Approaches feedback with a constructive, solution-focused mindset
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, publishing best practices, and editorial standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with focus, sound judgment, and composure
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on shared success
- Excellent creative judgment and an audience-first mindset
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media or related field preferred; or equivalent experience
- Three or more years managing social media content, particularly Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
- Ability to regularly type on a keyboard
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
