Job Description

Role Summary

We’re looking for a Specialist Inventory Controller to join talabat Local Shops team and play a key role in improving catalog accuracy, product availability, and branch assortment visibility across all stores, focusing on assortment parity.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring branch availability, reducing out-of-stock items, identifying catalog issues, and ensuring that all products available on ground are accurately reflected on the application. You will work closely with vendors, operations, scanning teams, account managers, to drive execution and improve the customer experience through better catalog health and availability performance.

 

What’s On Your Plate?

  • Daily monitoring of product availability and out-of-stock performance across all branches.

  • Ensuring all products available on ground are correctly displayed and reflected on the application, ensuring scanned items reflected on cataloge and added on SFTP.

  • Identifying products with catalog issues such as missing items, wrong mapping, barcode issues, SKU mismatches, and other content-related errors.

  • Analyzing data to identify the top out-of-stock items, repeated catalog issues, and key availability gaps.

  • Reviewing branch-level feedback and validating that catalog updates are aligned with actual branch assortment.

  • Sharing product and catalog issues with vendors and following up until resolution.

  • Coordinating with district managers to cascade tasks to branches and ensure proper execution and daily follow-up.

  • Working closely with the scanning team, operations team, vendors, and account managers to resolve catalog and availability issues.

  • Preparing regular reports and analysis on availability, out-of-stock trends, and catalog performance.

  • Escalating recurring issues with clear insights, root cause analysis, and action plans.

  • Maintaining strong follow-up on open tasks and ensuring timely closure with all stakeholders.

  • Supporting management with accurate data and clear communication on branch catalog health and availability performance.

Qualifications

What Did We Order?

  • 2–4+ years of experience in inventory control, catalog operations, product content, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of product catalog structure, including barcodes, SKUs, and product content attributes.

  • Good knowledge of Google Sheets and the ability to analyze and interpret operational and catalog data.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities from data.

  • Experience in following up with vendors and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders and top management.

  • Leadership and ownership mindset with the ability to follow up on tasks and drive execution across teams.

  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams

  • Fluent in Arabic and English.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
