Vice President, Client Management - Corporate & Institutional Banking

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Client Management.
In this role you will:
- Deliver high quality Client Management performance to ensure a first-class service is delivered to our clients; Pro-actively cover clients (meetings/service review/opportunities); Act as role model/go to person to Client Managers
- Oversee the post-closing day to day management of loan agency deals in Hong Kong and other Asia Pacific regions including but not limited to coordinating the conditions precedent and conditions subsequent; handling waiver and amendment requests; monitoring submission of covenants; performing periodic review of the transaction etc.
- Strong focus of Export and Project Finance transactions; Maintain adequate records in all required systems
- Review draft documentation (from an operational perspective) in tandem with the Transaction Management team and Operation team to ensure a seamless ongoing administration; Provide advice, guidance, support and on-the-job training to the more junior team member to ensure the team is progressing and has the right level of experience to deliver the service
- Identify, formulate and implement policies, practices, controls and procedures to maximize efficiency and effectiveness; Engage and undertake with all ad-hoc or special projects as required
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, partners, colleagues and other offices ensuring that all client issues are addressed and resolved to a satisfactory conclusion; Meet clients, as and when needed, proactively and develop strong relationship (Retention/referrals)
- Work effectively and collaboratively across a number of functions and teams – Within ISV, with TM, BD, BM and Ops, but also with HSBC Infrastructure Finance Team and the CIB relationship managers, compliance and risk
- Embrace change in the business and support execution at pace; Accept full responsibility and accountability for deliverables
- Ensure implementation of key risk controls and on-going evaluation of risks; Maintenance of systems (no errors, no delay); Adhere to the split of task (Ops/CSM)
- Aware of the operational risks associated with both the role and the various functions overseen; Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology
- Ensure appropriate governance around the business so that risks are identified, understood and mitigated; Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organization
To be successful you will need:
- A degree holder with solid banking experience with strong and sound product knowledge and experience of the loan markets including syndicated lending, export finance and project finance.
- Knowledge of ECA requirement a plus; Solid working knowledge in compliance issue
- Strong people skill and experience; Proactive, self-motivated and able develop and motivate more junior team members
- Ability to work under pressure effectively and independently while managing multiple tasks; Thorough understanding of industry standard and strong understanding of operational risk and best practices
- Team player, both internally and externally; Willing to face challenges and accept additional responsibilities
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua would be a definite advantage.
- Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of LIQ a plus.
