Requirements

The Powder Coat Utility team members support the powder coating department by assisting with material preparation, hanging and racking parts, operating coating equipment, quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role ensures metal furniture components are properly coated to meet quality, durability, and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload metal parts onto racks or conveyor systems for the powder coating process.
• Prepare metal components by cleaning, masking, sanding, or performing minor surface preparation as needed.
• Assist powder coat operators with color changes, booth cleaning, and equipment setup.
• Inspect parts before and after coating to ensure coverage, finish quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Identify and report defects such as drips, thin coverage, contamination, or damage.
• Maintain production flow to meet daily output goals.
• Perform routine housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with preventive maintenance tasks as directed by supervision.
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at 18 years or older
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in powder coating, paint line operations, or manufacturing preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic understanding of quality standards and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain consistent production pace.
