Outbound Telesales Consultant - Part time

THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you a confident communicator who enjoys persuading, connecting and achieving results? We’re looking for an energetic Outbound Telesales Consultant to help grow newspaper subscriptions across NZME’s iconic publications.
This part-time role is ideal if you love engaging with people, enjoy sales conversations, and want flexibility while playing a meaningful role in connecting New Zealanders with trusted news and journalism.
You’ll be on the phone, building rapport, understanding customer needs and presenting tailored subscription offers that deliver real value.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
You’ll use outbound calling to connect with residential and business customers, confidently promoting newspaper subscriptions and related offers. Your day-to-day will include:
Calling past, cancelled and prospective subscribers with compelling offers
Educating customers on subscription options and benefits
Supporting marketing-led sales campaigns and promotions
Cross-selling and upselling NZME products where relevant
Resolving basic customer queries and escalating issues when needed
Accurately processing sales and updating customer records
Using performance data to refine your approach and hit targets
Working closely with your team to share insights and improve results

Experience in telesales, customer service or a contact centre environment
Confidence communicating over the phone
Strong listening skills and the ability to tailor your pitch
Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
