At Parc Center for Disabilities, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience life to the fullest. Our Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities.


We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Preschool Teacher Floater who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and families every day.


What You’ll Do

 

The Preschool Teacher Floater supports classroom operations by assisting teachers and ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children.

  • Support lead teachers with daily lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Supervise children during play, transitions, and daily routines 
  • Promote positive behavior using developmentally appropriate guidance
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
  • Assist with classroom setup, organization, and materials preparation
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
  • Support meal service following proper hygiene practices
  • Observe and report children’s progress and any concerns
  • Support inclusion and individualized needs for all children
  • Follow Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements

Our classrooms are staffed based on children’s needs—not just minimum ratios—allowing you to focus on quality care, strong relationships, and meaningful instruction.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • DCF 45 Clock Hours Required
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Associate Degree in a related field or CDA (Child Development Associate)
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and families
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to inclusion
  • Knowledge of developmental delays and disabilities (e.g., ASD, ADHD, sensory needs)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles

Schedule

  • Full or Part Time floater; between the hours of 7:30AM and 5:30PM
  • Schedule varies based on classroom placement and business needs
  • On-site position

Starting pay up to $19.25 per hour!
