Shipping Forklift Operator

Key Duties/Responsibilities
The Raw Material Handler will operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments supporting production.
- Conducts a Forklift safety inspection prior to use according to guidelines
- Pulls product from staging areas and moves them to production
- Tracks raw materials through proper use of scanning, inventory control and reporting issues
- Transports products to and from various locations including combo dumps, scales, loading docks, and storage areas
- Removes empty combos from the dump and breaks down the combo for recycling and takes liner to trash area
- Reports any problems with product or equipment to supervisor
- Manages pallets and other supplies in specified areas
- Performs other related duties as requested
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
- Basic math, language, and reading skills
- Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly
Education and Experience
- High school diploma preferred
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
- Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness
- Must be able to move and lift up to 50-pound wooden skid or pallet
- Able to work in a cold refrigerated environment for up to 10 hours. Moving in and out of freezer
