About the Role

Description

The Philadelphia Cricket Club in Chestnut Hill is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Summer Camp Kids Fitness Instructor to lead outdoor athletic games and activities for children at our sports camps. As a key member of our camp team, you will create an engaging, fun, and safe environment for kids to enjoy physical activities. Your role will involve promoting fitness through structured outdoor games, running athletic challenges, and fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere for children of various ages and abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate a variety of fun and engaging outdoor fitness activities, including running games, team sports, relay races, obstacle courses, and other athletic challenges.
  • Supervise large groups of children, ensuring their safety and well-being during all activities (with support from counselors)
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for exercises and games, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate different skill levels and age groups.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel      motivated to participate.
  • Encourage good sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork among campers.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe, properly maintained, and used correctly.
  • Communicate regularly with camp leaders, counselors, and parents to update on campers'      progress and any incidents.
  • Promote health and fitness by encouraging healthy habits and the importance of      staying active.
  • Assist with camp set-up, breakdown, and organization of camp materials as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor setting with physical activity.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to lift equipment and manage the demands of supervising groups of children.

Compensation:
$25-27/hour 

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a formal setting as a coach or teacher.
  • Must be available June 15 through August 7 and Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
  • Fitness Instructor Certification is a plus.
