Position Overview: GLP Attorneys is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Spokane team in a full-time, temporary summer position expected to run through approximately Labor Day. This role will primarily support medical records and client account balance work for the Spokane teams. This is an in-office position with the potential to work a semi-hybrid schedule after training. The regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

In this position, you will:

  • Support Spokane legal teams with a focus on medical records and client account balance management.
  • Request, track, organize, and input medical records, billing, and related documentation into the case management system.
  • Review medical records, bills, and insurance payment ledgers to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and confirm all costs are captured.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding requests for records, billing, and balance verifications to ensure timely receipt.
  • Assist with client account balance management, including identifying potential billing errors or unrelated charges.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, clients, and internal teams as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and sensitive client information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to assist with caseload needs.

 Qualified candidates should have experience, including:

  • A high school diploma is required; advanced education or a paralegal certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in a legal or professional office setting is highly desired.
  • Competency working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive, process-driven tasks accurately.
  • Comfort working with numbers and performing basic calculations, with the ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset and commitment to delivering excellent support.
  • Ability to work independently, follow up consistently, and keep workstreams moving without direct supervision.

Compensation and Benefits: The hourly base pay range for this position is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour. Compensation is determined using local, national, and industry-specific data and is based on location, experience, education, and skill set.
