Job Description
The School of Applied Psychology is a national leader in accredited psychology training, with award winning educators and a strong focus on real world clinical skills. Our research drives national and international practice, with strengths in health behaviour, child and family interventions, youth development, workplace wellbeing and cognition. We offer extensive industry partnerships and work integrated learning across all levels of study.
As a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, you will play a key leadership role in advancing high quality teaching, clinical training and impactful research within the School of Applied Psychology. You will contribute to an exceptional student experience, strengthen our research profile, and build meaningful partnerships across industry and community settings.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will:
- Lead engaging, evidence based teaching and clinical supervision across undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programs.
- Drive a high impact research agenda, securing competitive funding and contributing to policy and practice.
- Provide academic and research leadership, including mentoring HDR candidates and supporting a strong research culture.
- Foster industry and community partnerships that enhance student employability and work integrated learning.
- Champion a positive, student-centred culture aligned with the University’s values, policies and professional standards.
This is a continuing, full time position primarily based at Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level C range $143,418 - $165,374 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $167,799 - $193,487 per annum.
Qualifications
You are an experienced clinical psychology academic who brings strong professional credentials, a commitment to evidence based practice, and a passion for developing the next generation of clinicians and researchers. You combine high quality teaching with a growing research profile and thrive in collaborative, student centred environments.
To be successful, you will have:
- A doctoral qualification in clinical psychology (or related field), registration as a psychologist with AHPRA, and clinical psychology area of practice endorsement.
- Qualified to provide supervision under Psychology Board of Australia requirements.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, clinical supervision and curriculum innovation in psychology programs.
- A track record of high quality research outputs, with evidence of impact and potential to attract competitive funding.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build industry partnerships and support positive student and staff experiences.
