McDaniel Supply Company (MSC) is a trusted provider of commissary and vending services to correctional and detention facilities. We are committed to delivering reliable service, operational excellence, and professional customer support in secure environments, in compliance with applicable South Carolina and federal employment and operating standards.
MSC partners with detention facilities, including Alvin S. Glenn Detention Facility, to support daily commissary and vending operations. The Commissary Clerk plays a key role in ensuring accurate order fulfillment, inventory control, and timely distribution of commissary products. This position requires regular work within a secure detention facility and involves routine proximity to inmates while performing assigned duties.
Requirements
- Load and unload delivery vehicles and transport products within the facility
- Order, Receive, inspect, label, and properly store inventory
- Distribute commissary orders throughout the detention facility in accordance with facility policies
- Restock vending machines
- Use company software systems to track inventory, document issues, and support reporting
- Follow all company policies, detention facility regulations, safety standards, and security procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain a strong partnership with facility staff. This includes regularly communicating, collaborating, and promptly addressing concerns. Consistently represent the McDaniel brand by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and modeling our core values.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Warehouse, delivery, or distribution experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures
- Must be dependable, flexible, and able to work in a structured environment
- Must successfully pass required background checks
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Position Details
- Compensation: $44, 200/yearly
- Schedule: First shift; based on operational needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and effectively perform all essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity expectations
- Consistent and punctual attendance
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
