About the Role

Description

This position plays a critical role in expanding our reach to families, ensuring that pregnant and postpartum mothers — and the children they nurture — affirming therapeutic support.


This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) with an annual salary range of $55,000–$60,000.


Summary

The Therapist provides mental health treatment to families with young children, with a primary focus on delivering the Moving Beyond Depression (MBD) model — an evidence-based, in-home cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention for pregnant and postpartum mothers experiencing depression.

In this role, you will support families, strengthen parent–child relationships, and help caregivers build skills that promote emotional wellbeing, bonding, and resilience. You will also provide mental health services to families outside of MBD, supporting our broader clinical work.

Requirements

  • Provide in-home, community-based, or virtual CBT through the Moving Beyond Depression model for pregnant and postpartum mothers.
  • Complete assessments, safety planning, and individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver services that reflect Futures First Values: equity, belonging, collaboration, resilience, and whole-family wellbeing.
  • Offer culturally responsive support to families, ensuring accessibility and psychological safety.
  • Provide mental health therapy for children and caregivers as needed outside of MBD.
  • Collaborate with early childhood programs, home visitors, medical providers, and community partners to coordinate care.
  • Maintain timely documentation and participate in reflective supervision, coaching, and required MBD training.
  • Advocate for families by connecting them to community resources and support.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with caregivers.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Kansas or Missouri clinical licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience with CBT, perinatal mental health, home-based services, or early childhood populations preferred (training provided).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel locally for in-home sessions.
  • Ability to sit, drive, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. (therapy materials, car seat, etc.).
