IOP Therapist & Group Facilitator

Description
We're glad you found us.
Athena Care has been offering high quality, accessible mental health care for over twenty years. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that great care starts with great clinicians who actually feel supported. We're an insurance-based practice growing across Tennessee, and we're looking for a Part Time IOP Therapist/Group Facilitator near Knoxville to join our team and help us support some of our youngest IOP patients with adolescent group services. If that sounds like you, keep reading!
We offer psychological testing, IOP/PHP, Spravato/IM Ketamine, TMS, psychotherapy, group therapy, and general psychiatry— often all under one roof. It's a lot — and it means your patients receive genuinely comprehensive care, and you get unique and interesting colleagues.
Who We're Looking For:
Someone who is curious about people. Someone who finds energy in working with a diverse patient population and cares deeply about the humans sitting across from them. You like collaboration; you value good clinical conversation, and you'd appreciate a team that actually has your back.
For this role we'd love to chat with a therapist who has obtained either provisional of full licensure in TN: LPC-MHSP or LPC-MHSP(temp), LMFT or LMFT-A, LCSW, or LMSW. However, if you have a Master's degree in a counseling or social work field and working towards your provisional licensure you could also be a great fit so let's chat!
What it's like to work here
We've worked hard to combine rigor and high-quality care with a fun and friendly work culture. Our staff aims to quietly take care of operations so you can stay focused on your patients. No drowning in admin chaos. No shouting into a void when you need support. At Athena Care we strive to offer the ideal balance of a small group practice feel on the ground with strong business expertise and technology behind the scenes
Here's what we offer:
- A real multidisciplinary team — you'll collaborate with fellow therapists, PMHNPs, psychiatrists, and psychologists. Real collaboration, not just an org chart bullet point
- Clinical leadership that's approachable — our support team genuinely wants to help you do your best work
- Continuity with your patients — outpatient work means you get to walk alongside people over time, which is where the real work happens
Your day to day role
You'll facilitate group therapy for adolescents navigating behavioral health challenges. That means assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, progress notes, and regular collaboration with the broader care team. You'll keep your documentation timely and accurate in our EMR, maintain your licensure, and show up as a thoughtful, engaged member of the team. You'll also have the chance to develop engaging and thoughtful IOP curriculum alongside other talented and dedicated clinicians.
Because you'll be focused on our younger patients, we want to make sure you truly enjoy the transformational work that comes with supporting and caring for ages 10-17 for outpatient group therapy services.

- Current, unrestricted therapy license in the state of Tennessee, in good standing, or on track to apply for licensure
