These thermoset processes include compression molding of sheet molding compound (“SMC”), resin transfer molding (“RTM”), liquid molding of dicyclopentadiene (“DCPD”), spray-up and hand-lay-up. The thermoplastic processes include direct long-fiber thermoplastics (“DLFT”) and structural foam and structural web injection molding. Core Molding Technologies serves a wide variety of markets, including the medium and heavy-duty truck, marine, automotive, agriculture, construction, and other commercial products. The demand for Core Molding Technologies’ products is affected by economic conditions in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Core Molding Technologies’ operations may change proportionately more than revenues from operations.
About the Role

Summary

Core Molding Technologies is hiring an Import/Export Assistant to support cross-border logistics and compliance activities.

In this role, you’ll prepare and manage import/export documentation, coordinate with customs brokers, and ensure transactions are completed accurately and on time in compliance with U.S. and Mexican regulations. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth material flow and supporting manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review import/export documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, manifests)
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and logistics providers to ensure timely clearance of goods
  • Process and track import/export transactions in internal systems
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and Mexican trade regulations (IMMEX, Annex 24, etc.)
  • Support creation and submission of customs documentation and permits
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support inventory accuracy and reconciliation related to cross-border movements
  • Track and validate logistics costs and documentation
  • Assist with monthly reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Assist with general import/export and logistics activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree or technical certification in International Trade, Customs, Logistics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in import/export, customs, or international logistics
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • Import/export documentation and processes
    • U.S./Mexico trade regulations (IMMEX, Annex 24 preferred)
  • Experience working with customs brokers and freight providers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment
  • Familiarity with ERP or trade compliance systems
  • Understanding of inventory control and logistics coordination

Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Travel: Minimal
  • Work Environment: Office + manufacturing support
  • Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
