About the Role

Join our team at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and grow your experience at one of the most unique sites in Calgary! The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is seeking a permanent, full-time Marketing Analytics Specialist who will provide critical insights to inform strategic decisions across marketing and business operations. 

This role will merge analytical acumen with technical expertise to enhance the organization's performance, particularly focusing on e-commerce systems, data visualization, and cross-functional collaboration. A core responsibility of this position is managing projects related to Tessitura, the organization’s e-commerce platform, ensuring seamless integration and optimization of technology to support business goals.

Location:

  • Calgary, Alberta region preferred; however, remote candidates may also be considered. Hybrid work is available for Calgary-based employees.

What you will do:  

E-Commerce System Management:

  • Oversee the setup, configuration, and optimization of ticket types, events, and pricing on the Tessitura platform.
  • Monitor e-commerce performance, identifying opportunities for system and sale improvements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of pricing, attributes, and system updates to maintain a user-friendly purchasing process.

Data Analysis and Strategy:

  • Analyze transactional, visitor, and marketing data to inform business and marketing strategies.
  • Develop forecasts for attendance and revenue, leveraging industry, environmental, and organizational data.
  • Assess marketing campaign performance and website analytics to evaluate effectiveness and ROI.

Project Management:

  • Manage e-commerce technology projects, from requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and optimization.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate Tessitura with marketing, development, finance, and operational workflows.

Reporting and Visualization:

  • Prepare annual attendance and day admission revenue forecasts informed by industry, environmental and organizational data analysis
  • Create dashboards and automated reports to communicate insights and trends to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop accessible visualizations that aid in data-driven decision-making.

What you will bring:   

  • A college diploma in Data Analytics, Marketing, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Economics is required; a bachelor’s degree in these or related fields is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles involving data analysis, marketing research, or business systems.
  • Proven track record of managing e-commerce systems and technology projects (experience with Tessitura preferred).
  • Functional understanding of digital platforms, analytics tools, and metrics.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
  • Experience in statistical modeling, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management skills as demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to high-quality output.

Working Conditions:   

  • Primarily office based with long periods working at a computer
  • Some lifting (heavy boxes, signs, tables, etc.)
  • May work evenings and weekends
  • May involve long periods of standing

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
