Information Management Specialist

Company Description
Te Tākinatanga - Our Story
At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading the energy transition to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities.
We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it.
Guided by our tikanga, we’re a team who care deeply about the work we do, how we support one another, and the impact we have. Simply put, we touch lives to make life better.
As we deliver major new assets, the quality of our information becomes just as important as the quality of the plant itself. Clear, complete, and trusted data is what enables our assets to be operated safely, maintained efficiently, and handed over with confidence.
This role exists to make that happen.
The Information Management Specialist sits at the heart of our Operational Readiness and Major Project Integration mahi (work), ensuring that the right information flows through complex projects and lands in the hands of asset owners ready for day one operations. It’s a role with real impact – shaping how our projects transition from delivery into long-term operational success and setting us up well for the growth still to come.
Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a cross-functional specialist role with end-to-end ownership of information management across major projects, from early development through to handover into Operations.

Own and lead information management within Operational Readiness, aligning closely with Project Integration objectives across the full project lifecycle.
Ensure project data received from consultants, contractors, and suppliers is complete, accurate, compliant, and fit for purpose at handover.
Shape and continuously improve information management processes so they work in practice, not just on paper.
Act as a key connector between project engineering, document management, SAP maintenance data, quality, and asset owners.
Influence how contractors and internal teams manage data, providing guidance, clarity, and practical training where needed.
Monitor information readiness, track progress, and escalate risks early to protect project outcomes.
Contribute to lessons learned and help refine Contact’s information management standards for future hinonga (projects).
While this role does not have formal people leadership, it carries significant influence and accountability, requiring confidence to set expectations, navigate ambiguity, and bring others on the journey.
