Statkraft has a vacancy for a Senior Health, Safety & Security Advisor in Ireland & N Ireland. As a key member of the Irish HSS team, the Senior HSS Advisor supports the business coordinating Health, Safety and Security (HSS) activities during Development, Construction and O&M, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
The role will report to the Country HSS Manager.
The role will require travel to various sites in Ireland & Northern Ireland.
Job Description
Working in the Statkraft Ireland as a Senior HSS Advisor your main responsibilities will be to:
- Act as Senior HSS Advisor for the project portfolio within onshore wind, solar power and grid systems advising the project managers on HSS matters from early development through to Operations.
- Provide advice, guidance, support, and instruction on all HSS matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including where applicable to subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors to sites)
- Help drive the culture across the organisation in accordance with health & safety policies, guidelines and processes
- Report on business HSS risks, KPIs and trends accurately with data and recommend constructive actions towards continuous improvements
- Produce the EPC HSSs Management Plans and other associated documents in accordance with Statkraft’s corporate standards and best industry practices
- Review the HSS documentations submitted by the sub-Contractor(s)
- Carry out internal audits & site inspections in conjunction with Site Management, recommends corrective actions, improvements, and document the findings.
- Ensure the implementation of the approved HSS management plan by the contractor(s) and their subcontractors
- Report any events and/or dangerous occurrences to the HSS Manager, Project Manager and Site Managers as required, ensure investigations are carried out in a thorough and professional manner
- Attend HSS Coordination meeting and other site meetings as requested.
- Prepares Monthly KPI Report for the project to HSS Manager and the Business Unit Manager
- Arrange and manage site start up meeting with Statkraft contractors
- Ensure Statkraft HSS onboarding is completed with all new contractors
- Prepare HSS Campaigns and roll out across Construction and O&M sites.
- Carry out site visits to development projects and support the dev team when required.
- Coordinate with PSDP/PD, OE and PSCS/PC across the projects & O&M Assets.
- Compliance on all requirements for Safety file prior to handover of project
- Implements and promotes the company Incentive Scheme on the project.
Qualifications
- Degree / Higher Diploma in safety or equivalent qualification
- Experience within HSS in the construction industry
- Detailed knowledge the Irish HSS Legislations and the Construction Regulations. Desirable to have experience in UK Legislation & CDM Regs.
- The ability to develop systems which meet the standards expected by external accreditation bodies, but which reflect the nature of the Company, and the practical implementation within the workplace.
- Experience, of working on large scale energy projects
- Previous experience in HV projects (i.e. substations and/or transmission lines)
- Ability to be able to prepare Audits and HSS reports, to a high standard
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work on own initiative
- A team player, who can work independently and with ability to drive the HSS improvement work
- Flexibility to travel is a requirement of this role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
