Utility Line are looking for a driven Business Development Manager who will be responsible for the generation of new business covering the breadth of the UK. The role will also work with our current client base to development existing business opportunities where possible.
Acting as the sales face of Utility Line, you will be measured against monthly KPI’s and will ensure that measurable growth is achieved swiftly through the application of an effective sales strategy.
More about the role:
- Identifying new sales leads, starting and maintaining the company sales pipeline.
- Updating and maintaining the companies CRM system.
- Provide monthly sales & new business reports.
- Research and work with internal experts to identify Utility Line’s new leads and potential new markets.
- Establish a strong sales plan for Utility Line with immediate focus on the next 12-months
- Attend conferences, meetings and industry events promoting the brand and expanding our client network.
- Contacting potential new customers via email, phone or social media to establish rapport and set up meetings to develop new relationships.
- Reviewing work scope with new customers to ensure they are technically and finically viable before handing over to the tendering team to execute the quote.
- Leading the negotiation process through to successful conclusion overseeing the handover process with pre-construction once projects have been agreed.
- Drive sustainable financial growth through boosting contracts and forging strong relationships with clients.
- Create and deliver presentations and sales displays internally and externally.
- Support the identification of strategic targets and pursue them.
Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of the ICP industry, legislation, NERS and technical elements of the scope of works you will be discussing with new customers
- An understanding of the current and future opportunities in the EV, Residential, Industrial & Commercial and Grid Connections space
- Ability to explain confidently and demonstrate best practices when dealing with O&M contracts and service deliveries
- Good knowledge of the ICP market and electrical utilities industry, with specific awareness of the DNO’s & IDNO’s in the UK
- Excellent understanding of all aspects within the distribution network inclusive of voltages up to 11kv & 33kv
- Good commercial awareness including contract law and management of risk
- Excellent time management and organisation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication styles
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team
