Regency Oaks is recruiting for a hospitality focused Dietary-Cook to join our Health Center Culinary team! This is a full-time position that may include holidays and weekends. The health center Cook is responsible for full-scope, hands on cooking while maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times. Perk with this position include no late nights!

Location: Clearwater, FL

Schedule: FRI - TUE 11:00am-7:30pm

Rate: $17/hour 

***SIGN-ON BONUS: $1,000***

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 

  • Assists in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents assessing preferences and nutritional needs. Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, placing food orders and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production. 
  • Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
  • Responsible for completion of hall trays and accuracy. 
  • Contacts the dietitian if unplanned or special therapeutic diets are ordered. 
  • Assures that meal tallies are accurate on a daily basis. 
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma/GED required. 
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience in food service operations of a health care setting. 
  3. Certified in safety and sanitation regarding food service. 
  4. Experience in a long-term health care environment. 
  5. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates. 
  6. Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests
