About the Role

Description

The Quality Control Technician performs quality control testing and inspection to ensure products meet specified standards. Conducts routine laboratory tests, analyzes data, documents results, and assists in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborates with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

  • Performs routine testing and maintenance tasks following standard procedures.
  • Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, records all data, and evaluates results.
  • Prepares, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware, solutions, and instruments used in the laboratory.
  • Maintains general housekeeping of work areas and expected to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Expected to develop skills in non-standard testing, or area specific expertise and ownership.
  • Creates standard solutions and references for internal use.
  • Performs calibrations, uploads test results and releases lots to shipping.
  • Follows standard procedures and contributes to procedure revisions where necessary.
  • May be assigned work in areas of technical service, analysis of new products, raw materials, processes, and test method development.
  • Interacts with all levels of production personnel and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed. 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • One year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in a technical discipline; or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must demonstrate ability to operate independently on a shift after training and qualification.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Makes decisions and establishes priorities on procedure-oriented operations based on timing and with guidance from Shift Supervisor.
  • Ability to use MS Office computer programs including Excel and Word
  • Willingness to work outside of scheduled shift as needed for training or to provide coverage.
  • Must be capable of wearing and operating required protective equipment and devices.

  • Ability to do basic mathematical calculations with the aid of spreadsheet or calculator
  • Ability to implement and complete experimental plans.
  • Ability to conduct tests properly and ensure reproducible and accurate data. 


Physical Requirements:

  •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Stable hand motion is required for the mixing and transfer of chemicals in beakers and flasks.
  • Employees are required to perform detailed measurements with the use of micrometers.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with moving equipment, chemical, electrical equipment, furnaces operating at high temperatures, and mobile equipment such as forklifts.

  • The ability to work with engineered safety equipment and personal protective equipment is essential.
