Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate testing activities with other professional staff, both school and non-school based, as required to maximize testing opportunities
  • Work in a self-contained, team, department, itinerant capacity, or at a field work-site, as assigned
  • Request assistance from, and work with, resource personnel as needed
  • Participate in activities and staff meetings as required or assigned
  • Ensure continuous communication with school administration both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) testing progress
  • Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
  • Ensure classroom and/or testing environment is attractive, healthful, safe and conductive to learning and that materials are accessible to students and in good condition
  • Collaborate with other professionals including guidance counselors and administrators to carry out school-wide testing or related activities as necessary
  • Maintain a confidential and secure testing environment

          • High School Diploma or GED
          • Demonstrated knowledge of FBISD program of studies related to assignments and public school mission, goals and organization
          • Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned
          • Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent growth and development or, if applicable, adult learning theory

          The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

          Additional Information
          • Work is performed in the classrooms, offices, work stations and meeting rooms. The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending and lifting/ carrying work related items weighing less than 25 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. Sufficient mobility to move about in a room to check student work and monitor behavior, and sufficient voice modulation to dictate directions is also required. There is potential exposure to bodily fluids and common teen illnesses. Work will be conducted during normal school hours.
