Job Title: Deputy Manager – Platform Lead

Department: Industrial Engineering – New Product Development

Reports To: Manager – Platform Lead

Collaborates With: Global Engineering, CAD, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams

Basic Function

Lead and drive mechanical design projects for gas and diesel generator systems, owning end-to-end execution from concept to delivery. Ensure high-quality CAD deliverables, BOMs, and Windchill documentation while collaborating with global teams to meet New Product Development (NPD) goals. Apply deep domain expertise and testing principles to deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Own and lead mechanical design projects for generator assemblies, modules, and accessories.

· Ensure design excellence by applying domain knowledge of generator architecture, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes.

· Drive project execution by aligning with cross-functional and global teams on scope, timelines, and deliverables.

· Utilize SAP, CREO, CATIA, and Windchill to manage design data and documentation effectively.

· Participate in NPD planning and execution, ensuring local deliverables meet global expectations.

· Provide expert support to Project Engineers, ensuring first-time-right designs through testing and validation.

· Conduct design reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and implement optimizations.

· Take full accountability for project outcomes, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

· Promote efficiency in design workflows, tool usage, and documentation standards.

· Foster collaboration and trust across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

· Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to organizational values.

· Support business development initiatives by contributing technical insights during client interactions and proposal development.

· Experience contributing to business development through technical support in client engagements and proposal reviews.

· Work closely with global clients to understand requirements, enabling tailored engineering solutions that support business growth.

Education & Experience Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.

· 12+ years of total professional experience, with 5+ years in core engineering roles.

· Proficiency in CAD (CREO, CATIA), PLM (Windchill), and ERP (SAP).

· Strong understanding of generator system architecture and testing methodologies.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and drive results.

· Commitment to quality, innovation, and customer-centric design.
