Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, the CFO plays a pivotal enterprise role shaping financial strategy, stewarding public trust and enabling AFCA to deliver on its purpose.

As a member of AFCA’s Executive Leadership cohort, you will:

  • Lead AFCA’s financial strategy to ensure long‑term sustainability, performance and value‑for‑money in a variable demand and fee‑funded environment
  • Provide trusted, authoritative advice to the COO, Executive and Board on financial performance, enterprise risks, investment decisions and strategic priorities
  • Drive robust financial governance, integrity of reporting, compliance and continuous improvement across systems, frameworks and insights
  • Lead AFCA’s enterprise risk management framework and business continuity capability, embedding risk into planning, decision‑making and performance
  • Oversee procurement, commercial and property functions, strengthening transparency, supplier governance and commercial outcomes
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, capability and a strong enterprise mindset

Qualifications

What You Bring

You are an accomplished executive leader with a strong reputation for stewardship, judgment and influence. You bring:

  • Extensive senior executive experience in financial leadership and enterprise risk, ideally within regulated, public interest or not‑for‑profit environments
  • Demonstrated success leading financial strategy, governance, performance management and audit
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, modelling, forecasting and demand‑driven budgeting
  • Experience integrating financial and workforce planning, including workforce modelling
  • Proven capability overseeing procurement, supplier governance and commercial frameworks
  • Experience managing corporate infrastructure, such as property or facilities portfolios
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex financial and risk information into clear, actionable insights for Boards and Executives
