About the Role

Lead the culinary direction of one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic venues. 
Inspire, develop and lead a high-performing brigade across bistro, buffet and events.

At SkyPoint, we don’t just serve food - we create elevated experiences, 230 metres above the Gold Coast. 
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Executive Chef to lead our kitchen operations across our Bistro, Bar and premium events offering.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where you will shape the culinary direction, lead a high-performing team, and play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role:
As Executive Chef, you will take ownership of all kitchen operations, from day-to-day service through to long-term strategy. As a hands-on leader, you will thrive working alongside your team while driving performance, consistency and innovation.

You will lead a diverse kitchen environment supporting buffet breakfast, high-volume Bistro, and premium functions and events. This role is as much about people and culture as it is about food, with a strong focus on building an engaged team that delivers consistently high standards. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining the efficiency, profitability and creativity of our offering, making you an integral part of SkyPoint’s success.

Some of the key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead all kitchen operations to deliver high-quality, consistent, and commercially successful outcomes
  • Design and evolve menus that are innovative, on-brand, and profitable
  • Drive cost control across labour, COGS, and inventory management
  • Ensure food safety, compliance, and kitchen standards are consistently met
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and performance

About You
You are not just a strong chef – you are a leader who builds teams and drives results. You bring:

  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen leadership role (Head Chef / Executive Chef / Senior Sous Chef) 
  • Strong commercial acumen across labour, COGS and menu costing 
  • A passion for quality, consistency and guest experience 
  • The ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment 
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style 
  • A commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
